Oh Motherland
Land without thunder
The land without storms and strangers
The home of all.

Where do I come from?
Father and Mother can’t hear me
Where do I come from?
Really where do I come from!?

No Motherland is foreign land
Where do I dwell?
Where is my River of milk and gold?
My stomach never asks no less.
Abundant is the milk of full breasts
No sleep I never cry for

Oh my country land
So far is the foreign land
I open my eyes and see,
Nothing of my own
Black and far is the foreign land
Blind to see no children
No children of the woman
Alone and frighten is me
Oh my brothers and sisters
Has foreign land eaten you?
My voice is loud for you.

Oh my sweet home!
How I miss you sweet home
I sleep awake
The eyes close no more
Oh Refugee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quantity Or Quality - 2007/04/24 00:09

Gone are the days, makerere university is no longer the university Uganda used to pride of.it's really sad to read on the nation's news paper that Makerere University has drooped to the 54th position among the 100 best Universities in Africa from last year 23rd position and to the 6,429th in the world.infact it should have moved from the 23th to atleast among the best ten. in the past ,entry into Makerere University was like passing through the hole in a needle, nowadays it's just a matter of affordability, whether the student is or not mentally capable he or she just sails through as long as the parents can drive a four wheels car to the campus, has some connection to the government or speak some particular language.I think quantity over rides quality now,the question is,"how many students can pay and sail through to the graduation day".the main issue now is about money not quality education.many more private universities are now cropping up but with little influence on makerere university which is considered the best in East Africa and now that the graph going down, what should we expect from the minor ones?what can the uganda government do to let makerere university regain its fame? something must be done soon.

Why Are all Demonstrations in Uganda Violent? - 2007/04/19 23:02

There is a saying that 'He who owns a Hummer Thinks all that he sees is a Nail".Museveni once said that He came to power through fire and he believes he will go through fire. Why can't there be any peaceful Demonstration in Uganda? The Police are supposed to guard the laws of the country but for the case of Uganda there is no longer any Rule of law we can be proud of as Ugandans.I was so shocked to witness a shameful and embarressing brakedown of the country Judicial system (Court Siege).Infact,we proved to the world that we don't practice what we preach.Infact,I'm so perplexed to read on our Daily News Papers that the president praised the kiboko squad , that those people are the community who organised themselves in a self defence group against these rioters..Does it mean the community are free to take the laws into there hands?Supposing next time one or two different groups organised themselves may be with spear, pangas, bows and arrows, will the police look on giving the president time to praised them over the death of maybe one million people?I think by arresting MPS or riotors ,the government trying to treat then symtoms rather than the disease itself.Post edited by: admin, at: 2007/04/19 23:52
